Three tips for safe and efficient woodworking projects.
People all around the world have discovered how much fun, and how fulfilling woodworking can be. They are finding that when you need a piece of furniture or something to brighten their home, planning and making it with no outside help permits them to express their style and gives them a lot of joy.
Most new woodworkers imagine that they have to go out and buy a whole bunch of pricey tools to begin woodworking. This is really not the case. While having a well-stocked tool kit does open up a lot of possibilities for an experienced wood worker, the sensible thing is to begin with a couple of basic projects that don't require many tools.Below I will discuss three tips which will help a beginner wood-worker to get started as safely and efficiently as possible.
1) Safety Equipment – This is an area in which I highly recommend a small investment in a couple of key items: gloves, eye protection (plastic goggles), ear muffs (if you’re using power tools), and a facemask to protect your lungs from dust and glue fumes.
2) An adaptable workspace - You will require a workspace that is sufficiently broad to move long sheets around in. This can be a basement, cellar or porch. You additionally require a work surface or bench that is level and permits you to clamp things onto it.
